Esprit de la Maison is a unique and exceptional sparkling wine, produced from the Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier varietals, an “assemblage” which embodies the spirit of Murganheira.

A sparkling wine made from the excellent variety “Pinot Noir”. This rosé nectar results from the care and thoroughness characteristic of Murganheira, associated to the most modern techniques applied in obtaining great “Cuvéss”.

It was considered right from the start one of the wines of the year by the renowned critic João Paulo Martins.

José Rodrigues invoked the gods and took inspiration from Bacchus to envelop this grand Millésime from Murganheira, which was selected to commemorate the 2001 Silver Biennale and perpetuate the living memory of the Douro Region into an exceedingly rich stimulus for the senses.

A wine that is only produced when we come upon a harvest of exceptional quality. Faced with a wine of rare, exceptional quality, we reserved a small batch of bottles which, after nine months in oak wood, rested in deep slumber for over 10 years in the silence of our cellars.

There they slowly matured to a magnificent standard from which they now arise in their full splendour.

Based on Touriga Nacional grapes, which many consider the most important Portuguese grape variety, and on a stringent selection of the very best produce of this harvest, we carefully produced this cuvée with state-of-the-art techno-logy to obtain a Blanc de Noirs of peerless structure. With fine and persistent bubbles, great aromas, and a long lasting finish, we introduce you to a sparkling wine of superior quality that is capable of lifelong seduction.
